Title: SharePoint/FAST Search Architect    

Location: Washington, DC( Local or Able to attend F2F)

Duration: Long term project

 

 

 

The manager will require an in-person interview; candidates must be local to the area or open to coming on site for the interview.

Do you have a strong hands-on Architecture, Design, and Development background in Enterprise Search? If so, we would like to talk to you!

 

Our client is using FAST Search in SharePoint 2010 and is also evaluating new Search options. We are looking for a hands-on Enterprise Search Architect / Developer to support the current environment and help with the full life cycle planning for transition to the new Search environment.

 

Needed experience:

Understanding of SharePoint 2013 Search highly desirable and understanding of SharePoint 2016 features a strong plus.

 

Experience working with at least one enterprise search engine (IDOL, Solr, Elastic, SharePoint/FAST, Google Search Appliance, etc.).

 

Recommend and execute modifications to the existing Enterprise Search environment to improve efficiency, reliability and performance.

Coordinate and participate in enterprise search tool and/or implementation companys selection.

Lead, coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the Enterprise Search environment.

Lead the review and validation of the enterprise search tool implementation solution design

Coordinate with infrastructure units to ensure availability, reliability and scalability of corporate servers.

Establish and implement search policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure search systems security and stability.

Define and implement search strategies for integrating disparate operating environments.

Conduct research on systems hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts.

Provide guidance to other search team members

Enterprise Search Operations

Assist infrastructure teams in defining and validating search systems backups and recovery procedures.

Establish and implement search policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure search systems security and stability.

Perform search system configuration and management.

Develop and maintain search training materials and search systems documentation.

Develop search-driven applications, forms and workflow

After hours on-call support is required.

 

SharePoint Technical knowledge includes:

Must have solid technical skills and experience in providing services around Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Windows SharePoint Services, Web development tools, object-oriented programming languages and techniques, database design and optimization tools and leading operating system and network platforms. Specifically, must be proficient in using XML and HTML, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, CAML, VBScript, JavaScript, Query, Web content management and publishing systems, MS .NET architecture, MS Visual Studio, MS Office suite including MS Project, and MS Access and SQL/Server environments. Must be skillful with: Windows OS configuration and management; network and Web security technologies.

 

As a Search Architect you will develop and implement solutions, maintain and support existing solutions, support testers and work with moving to a new Search environment.

 

Experience with Analytics tools in SharePoint such as Omniture or Google will be a plus.

 

Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Develops enterprise level Search application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features. Provides expertise regarding the integration of Search applications across the business. Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processeseither individually or in concert with project team. Will assist in the most difficult support problems.

 

Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse. Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs. Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies. Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business.

 

Education:

Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
