Job Description:
• The Principal DevOps Architect/Engineer designs, develops, and implements software tools and integrations for our CI/CD platform.
• The ideal candidate will have experience coding & automating Java app deployments.
Responsibilities:
• Design, development, document, and maintain the continuous delivery and integration platforms.
• Support scrum teams to ensure efficient delivery of integrations and solutions.
• Work closely and efficiently with product owners and scrum masters in an Agile environment to understand their needs and prioritize quality development practices and continuous improvement.
• Develops on multiple technologies and frameworks, including Jenkins, Maven, Git, Puppet, and Docker.
• Maintains up-to-date skills in DevOps technologies.
• Clearly communicates root cause analysis, status, road-blocks, and concerns to the team on an ongoing basis.
• Mentoring of junior level developers within the team, including but not limited to peer review of their work, building tools, libraries and documentation to help others adapt quickly to standard design methodologies.
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of developing and deploying web-based software applications.
• 3+ years of development experience with Java and Maven.
• Expert experience with CI tools (preferred in Jenkins).
• Expert in GIT
• Scripting experience in bash, Ruby, Perl, Python and/or Groovy.
• Extensive experience with Agile software development methodology(Scrum and Kanban preferred).
• Must be able to work effectively within a team with assignment independence.
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualification:
• Open Stack experience
• Kubernetes and/or Apache Mesos is a plus
• Docker Cloud / Docker UCP /Docker Swarm experience.
• Puppet / Chef / Ansible automation experience.
• Possess good organization and communication skills.
• Rapidly drive projects to completion.
• Proficient at multi-tasking among many projects.
