Guys,
I was wondering whether we have a qualification prerequisite to qualify to be our club champion.
What if one our "rock up and play" friends, as KK aptly calls them, actually turns out to be the best player for the day? A guy we have never met before. Is he going to be declared our club champion?
This is open to abuse. I could invite my ringer friend with a dodgy handicap just for the day and he could walk away with the championship.
I think we need to put down a condition for eligibility.
Am I making sense or not?

Valid point Machaba, thanks for bringing this to the table before is too late. My suggestion, this should be limited to Renaissance members only. One might ask who are Renaissance members and the fact is we know one another.

To be honest we have the usual suspects in Renaissance and those who plays with us from time to time. I suggest person to bd qualified to be crowned Renaissance champion for those who don't play with us regular should be someone who have at least played two Renaissance monthly competitions. There is people like John and Bev who we have played with over the years and do play with on Friday or Sundays games that might have to get indemnity from this conditions. On the day the committee can further decide on the qualification of individuals and awarding and declaring to all everybody's handicap. We may need to have cutoff time for people to arrive and be qualified to play. We cannot tolerate people arriving after everybody and joining the field. It would be unfair for such a player to end up playing with visitors who have no interest on the days outcome.

Hi Josh,
This initiative from KK was discussed with me. It has my full support in
order to ensure that we have a Renaissance and 5-wood challenge before
the end of the year. Please check with your players if they are
available on the day and revert back.

I'm very much aware, we also had Borole on our fourball. I think it's
(Bishop's Golf Day) taking place again today.

Nice to hear from you. Are you aware that the Bishop's Golf Day that we
partnered in last year in Irene is taking place today?
You will realise that my original message was addressed to Tubs, and
copied to you out of courtesy and swiftness in decision making.
I am the convener of the Renaissance Internal Club Competitions. I run
the annual program for the club.
I have a mandate from Tubs to arrange a game on that date. If you are
not happy with the date and venue, it is still fine. It was suggested
that we give 5 Wood preference for the day.
I agree that Tubs should perhaps respond
Kind Regards.

Hi Hendrick
I'm not sure what is happening here, are you the spokesperson for
Renaissance? There was a period when there was confusion regarding the
Renaissance contact person, and it was clarified in no uncertain terms
by them that the focal person will be Tubatsana.
To be fair to Hendrick, Tubatsana should respond.

I have booked 10 4balls at Zwartkop on 20th November 2011.
We are happy to make this a 5 Wood Renaissance Challenge game if they
are keen.
Should they not be interested, we will invite another social golf group
for the day. At least this suits our annual calendar.
Please let me know. This time of the year, it is difficult to secure
slots at golf courses around GP.
Thank you.

Hi Colleagues,
There is a suggestion on the table to play the 20 November 2011 game in honour of Robby Moabi. We can name the Cup and the Chalkenge in his name or we can introduce another smaller cup in his honor to be given to the highest scoring two ball of the day. What go you guys think?

I am of the IPS wafa wafa idea especially because the other championship
is being decided on medal. We need to give those good on IPS and those
good on Medal equal opportunity to win a cup.

Could we maybe throw the idea out there and assess how
