Dear Soso,
The rules for the order of merit will not be determined by howling in corridors but will be discussed in a fashionable manner. People had enough time to give KK their inputs that would have been forwarded to a broader membership. We cannot afford to implement new changes two days before the game. When are we going to get the time to deliberate this inputs?

What makes this new calculation method better?
What criteria was used to make that determinatio?
Who made the comparison?

Subject: Order of merit calculation

Our 1st medal competition is this coming Sunday and I wish everyone best of
luck. Towards the end of 2011 Kg Sebesho said Collen Macheke has a better
format for our order of merit calculation to be implemented in 2012. We
havent received anything from the two gentlemen for members to consider and
we are three days towards our 1st game. Can the two gentlemen update us
please, otherwise we will carry on with our tried and tested format whether
is the best or not.

Gents
I sense a feeling of antigonism whenever there are suggestions on the
table, perhaps i am not reading the politics correctly as i am naive
towards those, but i suggest objectivity not necessarily adopting
whatever the suggestions are, but just exhausting them and see if they
cannot enhance us as people first and then as a club.
My two cents worth.

Hi Soso
I think we should proceed with our format before we get confused.
Introducing new format this late is akin to training pilot in the morning and expect him to fly 747 transatlantic in the evening.

Kg will be playing today and we should ask him. Personally I haven't seen
it.

Dear Golfers
The format that I discussed with the competitions committee is as follows.
-The competition will remain a medal stroke play individual format played on a monthly basis.
- Each month a player will record the gross score less their handicap which will determine net score.
- A position will be allocated for the day.
-Points will then be allotted based on the position of the player
for that day
1. 20 pts
2. 18
3. 16
4. 14
5. 12
6. 10
7. 8
8. 6
9 . 4
10. 3
11. 2
12. 1
For Sunday we play normally. The competition committee will meet to fine tune formulae which will come into play from the next game but will include first game performance. This is close to how the order of merit is calculated.
Regards
Collin

Facts to know about the OOM competition
1. The competition is open to all individuals in the Rennaissance Google
group.
2. For any golfer to stand a chance of winning, they MUST play at least
9 of the 12 official monthly competitions.
3. The best 9 scores from a total of 12 will be used to determine
overall winner ofc order of merit for the year 2011
4. The lowest cumulative score will be the OOM winner.
5. It was agreed on 4 April 2011, that all future games should always
play the course in the same sequence.
6. Point 5. above would allow us to at least always get a result, by
using the 1st nine, in the event the game is abandoned.
7. In 2012, Players may only play off a maximum handicap of 18 for males
and 24 for females, in order to qualify for the OOM competition.
8. Any other suggestions to improve the competition are welcome.
9. KK Kekana is the 2011 Defending Champion of the Order of Merit.
