Job Description:
The Network Operations Project Manager based in New Jersey will manage various network operations projects. They will work with a large cross functional network operations team that resides in different offices on the east and west coast to ensure timely implementation of all projects. They will coordinate tasks and activities ensuring critical milestones are defined and met, and will hold task owners accountable for meeting targeted delivery dates. They will manage issues and risks and are responsible for reporting status on a weekly basis, calling out risks and dependencies, and highlighting when milestone dates are in jeopardy of being missed. They will work diligently with business partners to resolve roadblocks and will strive to keep all efforts and teams focused and on target, including engaging and escalating to senior management as necessary. They will produce quality status reports and attend executive level status meetings.
Essential Job Functions
• Manage and facilitate weekly team meetings, sub-team meetings, and architecture meetings to support building and finalizing the overall plan.
• Work with Department Leads to gather level of effort estimates for the work to be performed and to secure resources to support each work-stream.
• Develop the integrated project plan, including key milestones, and work break down structure with target completion dates for each milestone and task.
• Manage the project schedule, scope changes, and action items coming out meetings.
• Manage scope and requirements changes and issues and risks to keep delivery on track.
• Maintain effective on-going communications with stakeholders throughout the effort.
• Complete executive level status reports and executive level read-outs on progress.
• Other duties as assigned.
Specific Requirements, Skills & Education:
• Proven track record of managing network operations projects and delivering results
• 5+ years' experience managing network engineering, infrastructure, platforms, datacenter, and network analytics projects
• Familiarity with network operations terminology, concepts, and methodologies
• Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals
• Excellent Communications – both verbal and written
• Experience with planning methodologies and tools, including MS Project
• Competencies with MS Visio, MS Excel, and MS Word
Education
• The successful candidate will have BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, or have requisite experience with the telecom industry and network operations.
