The following is in scope of work for the team:
•All phases of software development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, and documentation. Programming languages include .NET and Java but others may be required as well.
•Infrastructure support
•Web services frameworks for Mobile
•Social Media integration
•Performance analysis
•Staff mentoring and training
•Providing Systems and Software Design and Architecture guidance to staff. Assist in developing strategies for enabling technologies to solve business problems.
•Supporting Software Development for Open Systems Applications by leading the development of Framework designs and domain solutions.
•Taking a leadership role in developing best practices based on industry trends and implementation of code quality and rule based development. Introduce processes to improve the overall quality of the deliverables and reduction of time to market.
•Defining and establishing models for improved configuration management. Provide guidance in creation of software migration and caching strategies.
•Recommending improvements for Security functions and protection of customer information on the Web site. Steward the recommendations associated with encryption strategies and restriction of access to sensitive data.
•Appling their extensive expertise in performance monitoring and management. Identify continuous improvements to performance of the applications and supporting infrastructure.
•Deliver consistent expertise in technical problem resolution and diagnosis of critical system failures.
Required Skills/ years of experience needed:
Senior .NET Developer
• Developer responsibilities plus the following:
• Minimum of 7 years of software development experience with a minimum of 5 years of Java and JEE AND/OR .Net technologies
• Design patterns experience
• Understanding of performance issues
Desired Skills:
• insurance and/or financial industry experience
• IBU Framework design and implementation
• Implementation of IBU Service code quality initiatives
• Extensive staff mentoring and training
• SCM system management
• Code review management
• Pre-release and production performance tuning and stability
• Performance monitoring and diagnostics of production systems
• Introduction of rule-based development
• Leadership role in the software migration from the earliest days (Kiva/Netscape Server) to WebLogic, WebSphere, and JBoss
• Rewrite of existing insite applications to .NET platform and Azure deployment
