Job Description:
Client is seeking a Senior Configuration Management Analyst for a contract role involving ensuring that application software changes in a multi-platform environment are implemented in accordance with the Software Configuration Services (SCS) process. He/she must develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding for the client's software configuration management strategy. This position will be responsible for execution of software builds, deployments and configuration elements within the Dev, QA, Stage, and Production environments.
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in the software development process for small and medium projects.
- Ensure the SCS processes are followed for builds and deployments for the assigned projects and applications.
- Maintain deployment and build schedules for projects and applications.
- Continuous enhancement of the SCS processes to support required business needs.
- Work in a Continuous Integration model.
- Execute build automation strategy.
- Provide software deployment tool administration and expertise.
- Build and support metrics and reporting.
- Work is often stressful and occurs with deadlines, limited guidance or information and with large-scale business consequences.
- At times; this position will require flexible work hours, and will require working some weekends.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Position Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, Business or related job experience.
- 3+ years' experience in an application development environment using a formal software configuration management methodology process. Requires the ability to develop and manage implementation planning schedules.
- Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects and coordinate project schedules.
- Innovative and strategic thinking is required, as well as a track record of success implementing solutions that result in measurable business benefits.
- 2+ years' experience performing Java and/or .NET deployments.
- 2+ years' experience building and deploying software.
- 2+ years' experience with source code control systems, including Subversion or Git
- Experience with software configuration management tools and performed administrative activities associated with those tools.
- Strong software configuration management process knowledge
- Subversion, Git, Jenkins/Hudson
- HP ALM, TeamForge, Jira
- Nexus, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (a plus)
- Formalized SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) knowledge
- Project Management Skills
- Knowledge of Linux or Windows
- Scripting Skills (Ant, Perl, Maven, Gradle, PowerShell, MSBuild)
